Patanjali was a great Siddhar and philosopher of some Sanskrit works. Maharishi was the one who derived the true essence of the spiritual path into the word of wisdom that became the Yoga Sutras. 

The life biography of Patanjali is still a mystery that is full of myths and contradictions. There is no absolute proof of the Yogi’s birth as it differs over a millennium. Some believe he was born during the 2nd and 3rd centuries BCE, while others claim that he lived from the 4th to 7th centuries BCE.

Following the additions and changes made by subsequent writers to his work, much confusion resulted, Patanjali lived in Nepal, Sri Lanka, Kashmir, and some areas of India.

According to some legends, the father of Yoga ‘Patanjali’ was born in Bhojpur, Nepal. He is believed to be the incarnation of Adishesha, Lord Vishnu’s serpent.
